What We Believe

God

God is one God existing in a triune nature of three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. While all three are equally God, The Son and The Spirit live in submission to the Father.  The Son obeyed God unto death on a cross for the salvation of mankind and for the Father’s glory. The Spirit was sent to us from God and He intercedes to the Father on our behalf. God is eternal.  He has always existed and will always exist. He is the creator of all things.  Nothing was created without Him and He created everything out of nothing. All of creation was created for Him and He is what keeps creation sustained.  God is pure and holy.  He is perfect.  He has no flaw.  He has never sinned, nor will He ever.  All purity and holiness is found in Him.  He is our standard for morality.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is God and He came down from heaven and took on flesh.  He added to himself humanity without ceasing His divinity.  He is the hope of mankind and His blood that was shed on the cross offered us the forgiveness of sin and His resurrection gave us the hope of eternal life.  Salvation is found in Him and Him alone.  He is alive today and He reigns in heaven until the time comes to call forth His Church to Him and then later to ride out and establish His kingdom on earth vanquishing the Antichrist and his minions.  Jesus will reign forever as King and we will follow Him forever as His redeemed children, servants, co-heirs, brothers, and friends.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit has been sent by God to dwell within us forever.  He is our Helper and our Intercessor.  The Spirit dwelled upon Jesus and was the source of Jesus’ power.  The Spirit is who gives the Church His gifts and power as well.  As the Church, we seek out the guidance and help of the Spirit in order to propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.  The Spirit is our deposit guaranteeing eternal life and He will never leave us.

The Bible

The Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God.  It is complete and trustworthy.  It is the specific revelation of God to mankind.  God wrote the Bible by breathing it through its human authors.  We know God through the Bible.  The Bible is the only source to be trusted in totality.  The Scriptures must test all things.  It is our authority and it is what we appeal to.

(Matthew 24:35; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16)

Mankind And Eternal Destiny

Mankind was created in God’s own image.  God created them as Man and Woman.  Mankind was originally created good and without sin.  However, due to Man’s rebellion in the Garden of Eden, we have all inherited a sinful nature and everyone is guilty of sin against God.  Due to sin, we are deserving of God’s wrath and on our own have no way of redeeming ourselves.  Therefore, all mankind is in need of a Savior and all mankind needs atonement for their sin.  No man can be saved without forgiveness through Christ.  All mankind will be subject to the judgment of God.  Those who have placed their trust in Jesus will face no punishment.  They will be welcomed into the eternal kingdom of God Almighty.  Believers will not be judged for sin, but they will be judged and rewarded for their deeds on earth in service to God.  Non-believers will face the wrath of God and they will suffer eternal punishment in the lake of fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels as well.  Someday sin and Satan will be defeated forever.  Evil will never return.  Peace and righteousness will remain forever.

(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 1:31; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Corinthians 3:10-15; Revelation 20:1-6; Revelation 20:7-10; Revelation 22:1-5)

Baptism And Communion

Baptism is observed by the believer as an outward expression of an inward faith.  Baptism does not forgive sins nor does it bring salvation.  Instead, baptism is done as an act of obedience to Christ’s command and it is a public and conscious confession of one who has placed their faith in Christ and Christ alone as their Lord and Savior.  Therefore, baptism is not to be observed by an individual until they are old enough to understand and confess their faith in Jesus.

(Matthew 3:13-15; Acts 2:38; Ephesians 4:5; Colossians 2:12)

Communion was instituted by Jesus Himself before He went to the cross.  Jesus instructed us to observe communion not as a ways of salvation, but as a way to remember the sacrifice that Jesus gave on the cross.  Communion is to be observed by believers alone because they are the ones who have obediently responded to the call of Christ.  The elements of the bread, which represents Christ’s body, and the cup, which represents Christ’s blood, are symbolic representations of the real sacrifice of Jesus.

(Matthew 26:26-28, John 6:51-63, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34)

Marriage

Marriage was created by God and it is the foundation of the family as instituted by God.  Marriage is between one biological man and one biological woman, to be kept sexually pure with each other, for life until death do they part.  Anything that departs from that description is not of God and is the product of sin.  God does not condone homosexual marriage, polygamy, transgenderism, or divorce.  The only exceptions for divorce are marital unfaithfulness or abandonment due to opposition to Christ.  However, God hates divorce and does not want any man to separate what He has joined together.

(Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:22-33; Mark 10:2-12; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Matthew 5:31-32; 1 Corinthians 7:10-16; Malachi 2:16)

Last Days

Jesus will return to earth and when He does He will establish His kingdom forever as prophesied by the entirety of Scripture.  Jesus will return first for His church and rapture them to heaven before the 7-year tribulation begins.  The tribulation will begin when the Antichrist makes a 7-year covenant with Israel.  Antichrist will eventually rule the world through the power of Satan, but will be defeated by Jesus Himself when He returns at the battle of Armageddon.  Antichrist and his false prophet will be thrown alive into the lake of fire and Satan will be bound and thrown into the abyss while Christ reigns on earth for 1000 years.  After that time Satan will be released to tempt the earth but will be defeated and will be thrown into the lake of fire forever.  God will form a new heaven and new earth and peace will reign forever.
